Agricultural Law

The Agricultural Law (AGL) area of specialization is offered through the Agricultural Law Center in conjunction with the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. Education in this area provides a foundation for students to better understand the laws and regulations governing professional agricultural related pursuits. Topics in this area include international agricultural agreements, consumer protection, risk management and legal liability. Career opportunities are available in agricultural and manufacturing industries, federal and state agencies, and insurance services. For career information visit the UF Career Connections Center.

Requirements

Students are required to have a minimum of four classes totaling 12 hours from any of the 3000-4000 level courses listed below and maintain a minimum 2.0 area of specialization GPA. Be sure to check course prerequisite requirements. Visit the Undergraduate Catalog Courses page to find more details for each course.

  • AEB 4123 Agricultural Law
  • AEB 4085 Agricultural Risk Management and the Law
  • AEB 4242 International Trade Policy in Agriculture
  • AEB 4283 International Development Policy
  • AEB 4424 Human Resource Management

Minor Option

A minor is available in this area of specialization. To complete the minor students must earn 15 credit hours with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Find more information about the Agricultural and Natural Resource Law minor in the Undergraduate Catalog. BUL4310 may count toward the minor, but cannot count toward the area of specialization requirements.
